Can't Delete Files or Empty Trash on Mac? Usually, you can delete files and empty trash on Mac by following above steps. But there are some situations that you can’t delete the file, and you need extra solution to delete. Here we list some conditions and solutions to help you delete unwanted files permanently and speed up your Mac. I was able to download.exe files from download.com, etc. But ever since I got McAfee VirusScan v8.7i from my university IT store (FIU), McAfee won't let me do anything. I need this Audio Editor software for school but I keep getting errors when downloading and when I try to use Iwin, it blocks it. How can I allow sites and.exe through McAfee? If you can’t download an item from the web using Safari on Mac. Safari can download most types of files, but if you have trouble with a file, try these suggestions.

Hi,
New member here. Cannot download any file from Safari or Firefox. For instance, want to download this file here: http://downloads.prosofteng.edgesuite.net/anon.prosofteng/drmac/Data_RescueII_1.2.1_US.dmg
In Safari, if I input the link, the link is visited for a short nano second and then returns to the previous page. In Firefox, the download progress never ends - and this is for any file I attempt to download.
I've reset my permissions and that hasn't helped. I've also installed the most recent software updates in OSX updater.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jason
